As part of our ongoing support for Barretstown, members of our Dublin and UK teams volunteered for a day over in Ireland at the Barretstown Camp.

Barretstown are a fantastic charity that does amazing work in Ireland and the UK, offering residential and outreach therapeutic recreation programs for children and their families living with serious illness. All of the children and families go to Barretstown free of charge – everything from food and medical assistance to accommodation is provided at no cost to the family.

To maintain the 500 acre site that Barretstown calls home takes a huge amount of effort from staff and volunteers. The team spent the day hard at work helping with all kinds of tasks. From gardening and lake clearing to cleaning and organizing equipment the team got stuck in.

We also took the opportunity to  present Barretstown with the money we raised from out hike up Mount Snowdon in the summer.

Barry Marron, Managing Director at Rennicks, said: “It really was a pleasure and a privilege to spend time at the Barretstown camp. While we only spent a day there, it was clear to see the impact Barretstown has on the lives of many children and their families. I’d like to say a big thank you to our team for their efforts and making it a special day.”
